Nippers Update - the pointy end of the season

1 Feb 2024 8:07 PM | Shaun Cumming (Administrator)

Congratulations to our nippers and volunteers who have been very busy over to holidays participating in the Jan Juc Summer Holiday program, Cosy Corner Junior Carnival, Danger 1000 events and Mount Martha Carnival.

We are now back to our regular nipper program with a busy lead up to our final event Junior State Championships (8-10th March).

There will be no Nippers training this Sunday as we have the Pt Leo carnival.

Please note the following events and the RSVP deadlines for the remainder of the season:

Pt Leo Junior Carnival - Sunday 4 Feb

Entries are now closed. Best of luck to the 63 competitors heading across the bay to PT Leo

PLEASE NOTE: we are looking for a volunteer to tow the trailer over and back, please let your Team Manager know if you can assist.

Jan Juc Torquay Friendly - Friday 9 Feb 5:15PM at Jan Juc

Our friendly rivalry continues with Jan Juc hosting our Torquay neighbours, followed by food, drinks, and music at our clubhouse.

Please RSVP in TeamApp by Sunday 4 Feb.

Anglesea Junior Carnival - Sunday 25 Feb

Please RSVP in TeamApp by Friday 16 Feb.

Summer Program Nipper Championships - Sunday 3 March

We missed this last session during the Summer Program due to poor conditions, fortunately, we have been able to schedule the "Champs" at our very last Sunday Training Session for this season. This will be an afternoon session, followed by medal presentations and our season wind-up at the clubhouse. Please watch this space for RSVP and event details.

Junior Victorian Lifesaving Championships - "States"

States are held at Warrnambool on the March long weekend, commencing lunchtime Friday 8 March through to Sunday 10 March. Please watch this space for RSVP and event details. Jan Juc have secured campsites and information on how to book will come out in the next week.

Extra specialist training sessions

In the month leading up to states we run some additional training sessions, more details will be released next week.

Officials and IRB Crew and Drivers

Congratulations to our members who have recently completed Officials and IRB courses, this has provided much-needed additional support to our nipper volunteer base. With the departure of several key volunteers at the end of this season, we  need to continue to grow our volunteer base, if you are interested in becoming an Official or IRB Driver/Crew please email nippers@janjucsurfclub.com.au or speak to your Team Manager.

See you all on the beach.
